The Washington State Cougars are part of the Pacific-10 Conference and hold their home games at Martin Stadium in Pullman, Washington. They are one of the fifteen varsity sports at the Washington State University. The stadium can seat as many as thirty-five thousand one hundred and seventeen spectators and is the smallest stadium in the Pacific-10 Conference. Their all-time record has them breathing above water, with four hundred and ninety-two wins, four hundred and seventy-five losses, and forty-five ties for a win percentage of .508. In postseason bowl games, they have won six of the ten they have been in. They have also won four conference titles and fielded five consensus All-Americans. Their current head coach, Paul Wulff has had, thus far, an atrocious showing over his three years at only three wins being marginalized by his twenty-two losses for a compiled ratio of .120 wins to losses. He is one of only six Head Coaches in the programs three century spanning history to have a losing tenure and the only coach to have a compiled ratio less than .200. Until recently, the school was periodically given a cougar as a live mascot by the Governor of Washington. Butch VI was their last live mascot and died in 1978. From then on, the school has used the human costumed mascot Butch T. Cougar instead.
